Room Tone
A talk and live demonstration with Rei Mori and the sound engineer Lena Brandt about recording empty rooms. In film this is called room tone: a short recording of a space with nobody speaking, used to fill gaps in the soundtrack.
During the talk, Mori and Brandt placed microphones around the room and played the recordings back as they went. The audience sat on the floor. The recordings became the starting point for Holding Pattern, 2026.
